Eight rules, one minute to read. By posting here, you agree to follow them.
| Category | Meaning |
| ✅ Always Welcome | Questions, calculations, discussions, helping peers, citing sources. |
| ⚠️ Use with Care | Proprietary data, strong opinions, personal project details. |
| ❌ Never Allowed | Spam, attacks, plagiarism, off-topic posts, self-promotion. |
The 8 Rules
To keep ChemEngCalc Community a valuable and respectful space for all engineers and students, please follow these guidelines. Violations may result in post removal, warnings, or account suspension. Read full Version here
- Respect — Be respectful. No personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory remarks – disagree with ideas, not people.
- Stay on topic — Keep posts relevant to chemical engineering and post in the right category.
- Ask well — Search before posting, give context (what you tried, what data you have), and use proper units.
- Be honest — Don’t share confidential employer data, copyrighted material, or unverified AI output as fact. Credit your sources.
- No spam — No unsolicited ads, repeated links, or undisclosed promotions.
- Safety first — Flag hazardous or unsafe content for review; remember advice here isn’t a substitute for professional engineering judgment.
- One account — One account per person. No impersonation, no ban evasion.
- Report, don’t retaliate — Use the Report button instead of arguing publicly. Moderator decisions are final.
What Happens If You Break a Rule
| Strike | Action |
| 1st | Friendly warning |
| 2nd | Warning + post removed |
